Grease is the word! Back out on a UK and Ireland Tour this musical hit will have you tapping your feet and singing along that is for sure. Matinée Dog caught this show during its week long run at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth. We admit you cannot go wrong with the music and the band were exceptional throughout. We have to admit we have seen better productions but this is worth a view especially if you love the music! The set was fantastic and made up for some of the awful American accents and the sound was out way too many times, you hardly caught the start of what any of the actors were saying. We felt a little bit like we were watching a high school rendition not a west end standard musical.

The choreography was on point and all were perfectly in time, as we say the set and lighting designs made up for the poor parts of the show. The audience were awful, where has respect for live theatre gone, I usher at Theatre Royal and have not seen an audience this bad for a very long time. Save your photographs for the end of the show where you can film to your hearts desire!

Peter Andre is a hit for the ladies that is for sure! From the moment he stepped foot on stage the crowd went wild, I felt sorry for some of the other very talented actors in this show that seemingly get ignored when they take their bows at the end!

We give this show 4 Stars, it is worth a watch but we would not rush back to see it again anytime soon. If you fancy an enjoyable night out with a good old dance session at the end then this is the musical for you.
