Get ready to experience Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical STARLIGHT EXPRESS, now open at the purpose-built Starlight Auditorium at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre! This electrifying show takes audiences on a high-speed journey with a cast of 40 performers who race and glide around the theatre, bringing to life some of musical theatre’s most beloved songs, including AC/DC, Make Up My Heart, Light at the End of the Tunnel, and of course, the unforgettable Starlight Express.
In this fantastical production, a child’s train set magically comes to life as engines compete to be the fastest in the world. At the heart of the story is Rusty, a steam engine with little hope of winning—until he finds inspiration from the legend of the ‘Starlight Express’.
With over 20 million people worldwide having witnessed the spectacle, STARLIGHT EXPRESS is a must-see for audiences of all ages.
The show features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, and is directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, The Little Big Things). The creative team includes set designer Tim Hatley (Back to the Future), costume designer Gabriella Slade (Six), lighting designer Howard Hudson (& Juliet), sound designer Gareth Owen (MJ the Musical), video designer Andrzej Goulding (Life of Pi), with new orchestrations by Matthew Brind alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber. Musical Supervision is by Matthew Brind and David Wilson, with Musical Direction by Laura Bangay, and casting by Pearson Casting.
The show also features fresh, dynamic choreography by Ashley Nottingham, and the legendary Arlene Phillips returns as creative dramaturg.
The Starlight Auditorium, located at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, is a state-of-the-art venue just 12 minutes from Baker Street, and a quick 5-minute walk from the Wembley Park Tube station.
