Sophie’s quest to discover the father she’s never known brings her mother face to face with three men from her distant romantic past on the eve of a wedding they and you will never forget. You’ll feel like you are on holiday in Greece with this charming show. The set will trasport you to the sunny island of Santorini in seconds.
The cast hit you with high energy, emotion and laughs througout! Donna Sheridan played wonderfully by Sara Poyzer at our performance (Sarah Harlington alternate at some shows) captures your heart and truly shows the emotion she is going through superbly! Her stand out moment in our eyes is during “I don’t wanna talk” simply sensational and hits all the notes perfectly night after night well done! Sophie her daughter was played by Lucy May Barker who was perfect in every way, her charisma and joy shines out and is catching for sure, she has velvet tones and looks stunning. Tanya who is played spectacularly by Helen Anker will have you laughing from the moment she steps onto the stage. Rosie, played by Nicky Swift is equally as joyous and the duo are a perfect match.
Richard Standing (Sam Carmichael), Daniel Crowder (Harry Bright) & Phil Corbitt (Bill Austin) play the three dad’s to Sophie. The trio bring the story to light so well and bring comedy gold, some touching moments and again even more energy to an already buzzing show. Sky played by Toby Miles is also worth a mention, his charming smile and lucious looks make him one to please the eye throughout the show. Pepper who is perfectly played by James Wiloughby Moore gives an incredible dance off with Tanya in “Does your mother know” we for one were amazed by his talent!
This charming cast and wonderful band make this one of this year’s must see shows. Honestly you would be stupid not too, especially if it is showing in a theatre near you. Matinée Dog marked this show short of a 5th star due to a few technical glitches, mic’s not being up when required, music that at times drowned out the actors wonderful voices that we wish we could hear. However, this show still gets a very well deserved 4* and we are sure you will love it!
The audience went wild at the end of the show and you could tell the cast absolutely loved the crowd! A standing ovation happens a lot these days but this show and the stellar cast truly deserved this one. We then had an amazing time dancing to the mega-mix that incldes “Waterloo” & “Dancing Queen” before leaving with huge smiles on our faces.
