Full casting has been announced for Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella as the acclaimed New Adventures production returns for a major 30th anniversary UK tour, opening in Plymouth this November.
The celebrated production will visit 17 venues across 24 weeks, including a Christmas season at Sadler’s Wells before travelling to cities including Birmingham, Liverpool, Cardiff, Glasgow, Newcastle and Edinburgh in 2027.
Full cast announced for Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella
Sharing the title role of Cinderella will be Hannah Kremer and Katrina Lyndon, while Reece Causton and Rory Macleod will perform the role of Harry, Cinderella’s heroic Pilot.
James Lovell, Andy Monaghan and Kingston Taylor will share the role of The Angel – Cinderella’s very different take on the traditional Fairy Godmother – while Michela Meazza and Daisy West will appear as Cinderella’s formidable stepmother Sybil.
Nicole Kabera will also play Sybil during the UK tour.
The company is completed by Mark Austin, Benjamin Barlow Bazeley, Tom Barnes Standing, Isabella Chandler, Carla Contini, Adam Davies, Christina Gibbs, Louis Harris, Thomas Ireson, Rosanna Lindsey, Maisie Mwebe, Matthew Petty, Matthew Potulski, Holly Saw, Molly Shaw-Downie and Shakiera Ward.
Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella celebrates its 30th anniversary
This isn’t quite the Cinderella audiences might expect.
Matthew Bourne’s production transports the classic fairytale to London during the Second World War, transforming the familiar story into a wartime romance between Cinderella and RAF pilot Harry.
Their chance meeting leads to a magical night together before the realities of the Blitz tear them apart.
The production features Prokofiev’s score, with direction and choreography by Matthew Bourne and designs by longtime New Adventures collaborator Lez Brotherston.
The forthcoming tour marks 30 years since the production was first created.
Imperial War Museums partners with Cinderella tour
New Adventures has also announced a partnership with Imperial War Museums for the 2026/27 tour.
The collaboration will include Cinderella-inspired dance workshops during the museum’s Big Story Festival in October, while members of the cast will undertake a research day exploring the museum’s collections.
The show’s programme will also feature a discussion between designer Lez Brotherston and IWM curator James Taylor examining the wartime artefacts that helped influence the production’s visual world.
Where is Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella touring?
The Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella UK Tour 2026/27 opens at Theatre Royal Plymouth from 16–21 November 2026, followed by The Lowry in Salford from 24–28 November.
It then arrives at Sadler’s Wells in London from 1 December 2026 until 17 January 2027, marking New Adventures’ 24th Christmas season at the venue.
During 2027, Cinderella will continue its journey around the UK with performances in Milton Keynes, Woking, Birmingham, Liverpool, Hull, Nottingham, Southampton, Cardiff, Canterbury, Bradford, Norwich, Glasgow, Newcastle and Edinburgh.
With its distinctive wartime setting, Prokofiev’s music and Bourne’s storytelling through dance, the 30th anniversary tour brings one of New Adventures’ best-known productions back to stages across the country.
