We really do believe the best date night/ night out is a trip to a West End show, not to mention a wonderful dinner, followed by a post-show cocktail or two and a swanky stay at a London hotel. Pre-Show
Dress to impress, there is nothing nicer than getting ready for a wonderful evening out at the theatre. Our favourite thing to do pre-show is to grab a drink or even better dinner, but what is great about London is that you can even grab dinner after the show should you wish to! We have done that a few times. The West End is littered with top quality restaurants. Matinée Dog will be making some recommendations on these in a later blog post so keep your eyes peeled including our top picks of Hotel accommodation close to all the action in the West End.
Showtime
Remember to arrive with plenty of time to spare, there is nothing worse than rushing to the doors, take it easy, grab a drink at the bar and relax into the auditorium ahead of curtain up. It really will make the experience even more special. We occasionally treat ourselves to VIP packages at some theatres, this really does add the sparkle to an evening and makes you feel extra special, let the theatre staff treat you like royalty. Then sit back relax and enjoy the show.
Post-Show
It’s not time to end the evening just yet, why not treat yourself to some post-show cocktails at your favourite bar. We love to extend the evening before heading back to the hotel to revel in what will have been an amazing evening, with extra special company.
